From the very beginning, Alex and Drew and their team showed great respect for the detail of the original house and the additions, rectifying some of the damage done by a poorly executed renovation in the 1990s and ensuring that new work was executed sensitively and in keeping with the original. A variety of traditional crafts were brought to the project, with pleasing results. Home Construction worked cooperatively and intelligently and were not afraid to challenge us and the architects with innovative ideas to improve the finished product.
At the same time, the construction of the pool, to an ultra-modernist design and incorporating very high structural loads due to the weight of a garden above, was undertaken with a calm assurance that the challenges could be overcome, and with a series of clever ideas to deliver a stunning result in an efficient manner. At all times, Drew and Alex showed not only that they could generate ideas but they also exhibited a willingness to seek out, acknowledge and refine the ideas of other members of the project team, including their subcontractors and the structural engineers.
The final product shows the results of Home Constructions’ skill, innovation and dedication to quality. Overall, it was nether a quick project nor an inexpensive one. This was our collective choice. Instead, the focus was at all times on getting the best possible result. We believe that this has been achieved.

The home was a large Federation House that was in bad need of a total makeover and large addition of pool and rear living area. From the very beginning Alex and his team show great respect to the detail of the original house that had been poorly renovated in the 70s and 80s as well as to the architectural detail of the new additions we had planned.
They worked in very well with the architect utilising any new products and finishes as well as offering great advice of choices of finishes as some of those decisions were made throughout the build.
The final product shows the skill and dedication to quality and finishes that was needed and we would not hesitate to recommend Home Construction in the future.

With no experience with building, and hearing all the horror stories, we were nervous about our gallery project. In hindsight these fears were totally unnecessary, as Drew and Alex were so professional and in tune with our needs to stay within budget, and on schedule, but still solve all the problems that arise when you uncover an old building.
